ESWT has been around for decades, and primarily used in the treatment of sports related injuries in humans, such as tendinopathies and malunion fractures. The success rate for these injuries treated with ESWT ranged from 65%-91%. ESWT is a non-invasive procedure used to treat chronic and acute pain of the musculoskeletal system. ESWT uses high-energy shockwaves at the cellular level to accelerate healing, improve blood flow, and provide pain relief.
Our rehabilitation department utilizes the PiezoWave 2 to administer ESWT. The PiezoWave 2 utilizes single- and double-layer piezo technology to create consistent energy from one pulse to the next, without your pet needing sedation!
